The Karlsruhe office

Foundation and development of the law practice in the 50’s and 60’s was mainly the work of Dr. Gerhard Caemmerer, Dr. Hans Caemmerer and Bert Melber. Through the commitment of these lawyers, the practice continued to grow in the years that followed, becoming and remaining one of Karlsruhe’s leading practices. Since the 80’s, as a result of Axel Trautmann joining the practice, it has developed an interprofessional character.

The work of our Karlsruhe office covers all the main fields of business law. In addition, we offer expertise in taxation law, company auditing and business management consulting. Our practice has an excellent reputation for private and public construction law, banking law, commercial and company law, labour law, competition and trademark law. We represent our clients throughout the country and abroad as well. We attach major importance to providing clients with out-of-court advice with the purpose of avoiding disputes before the courts. Court-based services remain a major part of our work in which we act before all regional appellate courts. As a founder member of the German section of Eurojuris, the practice has established numerous contacts between Karlsruhe and Basel and the Eurojuris-International EEIG.

In addition, the practice is a member of the German-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and the German-Swiss Association of Lawyers. We have strong links with business and commerce, as is shown by the presence of various partners on supervisory and administration boards of major companies and also by our membership in business organisations – for example the Karlsruhe Construction Guild.
